The Joy of a Balloon
|
The first half of October was amazing. I had the opportunity to travel with Doma International to Ukraine. This provided me not only the first hand exposure to the great ministry that Doma seeks to and does accomplish, but also to learn some valuable lessons and gain some great reminders from some very special little children. Click here to read about the adventure and reflections.
Don't forget to join us as a part of Team Up 4 Orphans - a fundraising running team to benefit the mission and ministries of Doma International. We'd love to have the team formed by the 1st of December so we can not only help everyone get prepared to run, but so that they can use their free on-line fundraising websites for their friends and supporters interested in year-end giving!

Meet chinaconnect!
|
Concept. Pray. Plan. Create. Execute. Into the Field loves to be involved with all stages and feels blessed to walk along side, assist with the strategic planning, and launching of a new ministry to China. chinaconnect shares Christ's love with the Chinese people through service and relationship. There will be three opportunities in 2010 to serve with chinaconnect in "The Other China" - the China beyond the bright lights of Beijing and the hoopla of Hong Kong.

Christian Leaders in Fundraising - CLiF Net!
|
Through a series of meetings and conversations, Into the Field and several other Christian ministries decided that something was missing - a place where those charged with the fundraising and development activities for Christian organizations could come together for fellowship, support, and networking. Now, on the 2nd Wednesday of each month, they can gather together for the CLiF Network meeting! If you have the blessing and privilege of raising funds for a Christian organization, and are in the Greater Columbus area, please consider joining us!

Check it Out - A Faith and Culture Devotional
|
Have you ever wondered how faith and culture fit together? Do you have the desire to learn more but get overwhelmed by the magnitude of information that is "out there"? Into the Field encourages you to pick up A Faith and Culture Devotional. It has been described as a "college education in a daily devotional." Written and compiled by Kelly Monroe Kullberg and Lael Arrington, this book would be a great gift for yourself or anyone on your list!

Every time I have the privilege of serving others, I am reminded just how very blessed I am. I admit I love the Christmas season. I love the trees, the white twinkle lights, the red bows, and, yes, the presents. But how much more, really do I - do you - need? The stores are rapidly filling with the new focus of the season - the buy, buy, buy - and the spotlight has been taken off of the real reason for the season, the birth of Jesus Christ. I encourage you to take two minutes and watch The Advent Conspiracy video. I pray that it will give you reason to pause, to think about your focus this Christmas!
