Calling Gift Wrappers
|
Do you like to wrap presents? Want to do so and help raise funds for Into the Field? Into the Field has been given the opportunity by Macy's Polaris (in Columbus) to staff their gift wrapping table on Saturday, December 11 from 12-4p and Tuesday, December 21 from 4-8p. All wrapping fees and donations will be given directly to Into the Field. Would you be willing to volunteer during one (or both) shift? Please contact Jennifer Cameron ASAP.

Read the Bible in a Day!
|
International Friendships - a great ministry serving the international students at The Ohio State University - is once again doing it's special "Bible in a Day" event. The goal is to have the entire Bible read in a single day. Each individual who signs up will be given a passage to read and on the appointed day (currently scheduled for December 11). Believers from around the city, state, country, and world (you never know) will join together to take a stand and read His word together.

God is Good...All the Time

In the midst of pain and suffering, it can sometimes be difficult to see God's goodness...but we can rest assured that He is there.
A week and a half ago, Pastor Nae Nae, one of God's special men in Haiti, was hit by a car and was not expected to make it through the night. He lost consciousness, was unresponsive to word or touch, and was having seizures. Word went out around the world and immediately prayers began fervently flying upwards. Many people have been touched by the life of this man and the work that he is doing. The father of five and pastor of several hundred, when the earthquake rocked Port-au-Prince 11 months ago, he found himself with 20+ new orphans to care for...and care for them he has with what few earthly resources he possesses.
Eyes Wide Open International, who has been walking beside Pastor Nae Nae and his family since the springtime, launched a special fundraising effort to increase their support, is spearheading prayer reports, and Nicolle Bompart boarded a plane to be there with them. While he is still unable to speak, Nicolle reports that Pastor Nae Nae is now awake and able to walk with assistance. We may never understand why it is that this accident happened, but God has demonstrated His presence throughout the process and we know that He delights in seeing His children come together and come to Him on their knees. Indeed God is good...all the time.

The turkey has been eaten, "Black Friday" shopping has been conquered, Ohio State has beat Michigan (again), and family has headed home, but my thanks and appreciation for those who are in my life and who support, encourage, and love me will never come to an end. Like so many, I know that I don't pause as often as I should to say THANK YOU, but I hope you know how important you are to me.
In October, I returned to rural China and was reminded, once again, just how blessed we are and how thankful we all should be for our faith and freedom. Click here to read some of my thoughts and experiences.
